A legendary Italian glass brand from the island of Murano whose worldwide fame is based on a long tradition of artistic craftsmanship and original design. It was founded in 1921 by Milanese lawyer Paolo Venini and Venetian antique dealer Giacomo Cappelini.
From the very beginning it has collaborated with leading sculptors, painters, designers, and architects. Their arrival to Venice was followed by an amazement at the revolutionary possibilities of glass techniques and the nearly 200 original colours which are still a closely guarded secret. The list of designers includes legends such as Alessandro Mendini, Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Carlo Scarpa, Tapio Wirkkala, Timo Sarpaneva, Pininfarina, and Cartier. Today, the island is visited by international designers such as Fernando and Huberto Campan, Barber Osgerby, and Studio Job. Vases, bowls, decanters, and other exquisite glass objects are hand-blown by Venetian masters. Each piece is issued in a limited and numbered edition and is truly one of a kind. Venini works can be found in museums around the world such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
