Louvre welcomes Fornasetti!

Pierre Fornasetti's retrospective in the Paris Museum of Decorative Arts, which is housed in one of the wings of Louvre, will undoubtedly be one of the biggest arts events of the year. This allows you to meet not only one, but two Italian artists whose talents knew no bounds in this temple of arts: Leonardo da Vinci and his Portrait of Mona Lisa and Pierre Fornasetti – the true man of Renaissance of the twentieth century.

The exhibition is called Practical craziness. Those who know Fornasetti's works from praguekabinet are probably not surprised by this name. Whether it comes to porcelain plates with endless variations of opera singer Lina Cavalieri's face, to luxurious lacquered furniture, intriguing interior accessories or silk scarves – everything serves well to the purpose but also can pleasantly distract from the daily routine and entertain by its original look.

Now in Paris, you will have another chance to prove that this Milanese artist could certainly not be called plain. He always managed to combine his peculiar humor with some original, timeless design. Surely you'll be surprised by the range of things he created in the course of his entire career! The exhibition runs from March 11th to June 14th at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, 107, rue de Rivoli, 75001.
