Exhibition of František Vízner and Eva Sakuma continues

In cooperation with the artist’s daughter, praguekabinet organised an exhibition on the occasion of the late František Vízner’s eightieth birthday. The exhibition, which will run until July 15th 2016 is focused exclusively on the artist’s studio work, i.e. unique sculptural objects of hand-cut glass, and features minimalistic bowls and vases ranging from intense refracted colours through clear crystal and elegant smoke to opaque opal and clear, wall-sized objects from the artist’s later years. Other works on display include iconic objects such as the famous peaked bowl and bored-out circular vase. The American art critic William Warmus stated that František Vízner’s works are the most perfect objects created by human hands.

Painter Eva Sakuma’s work is focused primarily on joining the environment of the Japanese countryside with a particular interior or a fragment thereof. The combination of these two seemingly unrelated spaces brings forth a deep and even contemplative intertwining of man and nature in the given place and time. Thus for the viewer, new possibilities of human perception are opened, with a deep understanding for the beauty of the morphology of the present reliefs.
